Wait! Did you say Oscars?
Yes. You heard right. The 88th Academy of Awards ceremony will take place Sunday, February 28th, 2016. The Academy Awards, hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. For those of us who decide to watch the Oscars from home, rather than head to Hollywood, we can view the ceremony on the ABC Network. The Red Carpet start time is 7pm Eastern Time – 4pm Pacific Time, and the ceremony start time is 8:30pm Eastern Time – 5:30pm Pacific Time. To help you prepare for the festivities, I’ve listed 6 winning quick Oscar appetizers that are sure to satisfy your most difficult judges. Each recipe takes only minutes to prepare allowing you time to sit back, put up your feet, relax and enjoy the show! Ready? Set! Let’s Go!

Something Fruity:
Mini Fruit Kabobs
Ingredients: 6 large strawberries, washed and cut into small chunks; 1 cup green, seedless grapes, washed; 1/2 cup blueberries, washed (feel free to use whatever fruit you like best!)
Preparation: add one strawberry chunk, one grape, and one blueberry to a toothpick in order of your liking, place each mini fruit kabob on a serving plate

Oscar Gold Banana Bites
Ingredients: 2 large bananas, gold sugar sprinkles
Preparation: cover a serving plate with gold sprinkles, place sliced banana chunks on the sprinkles, add a toothpick to each banana chunk, enjoy!

Something Sweet:
Oscar Gold & Chocolate Drizzled Popcorn
Ingredients: 1 bag popped microwavable popcorn, 1/2 tub Baker’s Heat & Dip Dipping Chocolate, gold sugar sprinkles
Preparation: Spread popped popcorn on cookie sheet, drizzle melted chocolate over popcorn, sprinkle popcorn with gold sugar sprinkles, place cookie sheet in freezer for 4-5 minutes, fill black muffin cups with gold and chocolate drizzled popcorn, place popcorn filled muffin cups on a serving plate

Something Veggie:
Veggie Hummus Pretzel Bites
Ingredients: 1 bag Pretzel Crisps, 1 tub Sabra Hummus, ½ cup diced cucumber, ½ cup diced tomato, fresh or dried basil
Preparation: Place a small dollop of hummus on a pretzel, add a sprinkle of diced cucumber, diced tomato and basil, place on serving plate

Something Cheesy:
Cheese & Crackers: Tuxedo Style
Ingredients: 1 package of crackers (your choice), any soft or hard cheese (your choice), pitted black olives
Preparation: Place a triangle shaped piece of cheese on a cracker. Add 3 buttons cut from an olive using a small drinking straw, add 2 triangular pieces of olive for the bow tie, place on serving plate

Something Meat:
Ingredients: 1 bag Little Smokies, 1 bottle barbeque sauce
Preparation: Add Little Smokies to either a crockpot or saucepan, pour bottle of barbeque sauce over Smokies, cook on low heat for 2 hours or until ready to serve, place individual Smokies on serving plate, add a toothpick to each Smokie
